Hospitals turning green
Today's New York Times has an article on the movement by many hospitals to reduce medical waste. The article largely focuses on the operating room where many unused items are commonly discarded. But it made me wonder how much contact precautions, with all the use of disposable gowns and gloves, adds to the problem.
