Everyone's life is difficult, but one of the best ways to understand what someone's life is really like is to 'walk a mile in their moccasins.' That's what a recent Nature article let's us do. They recently secured access to an American Cancer Society grant review meeting. One in which the previous review resulted in a 9% funding rate and it may be getting worse. Having been on both sides of the review process, I found the description very compelling and accurate. Link to Nature article (html) or (pdf)
