...to the Research Works Act, a bill which would have prohibited the federal government from requiring open access to research funded by the federal government. You read that correctly: you, dear taxpayer, get to pay for the research; then, when you want to read the results, you'll have to pay again!

Hey Guys, what are your thoughts on the launch of the Open-Access Journal on Antibiotic Resistance and Infection Control?
ReplyDeleteI"m excited for it. Hopefully it will push AJIC and ICHE to consider open-access models. Of course, I'm biased since I'm a section editor for ARIC. Full disclosure of COI.
ReplyDeleteOf course, costs to publish are currently high, but hopefully those can come down over time.
